did anyone who bought home get home warranty insurance plan to cover repairs after you bought house on re-sale market?

Wondered if you had any pros or cons about specific insurance policies...
we are buying house end of the month and sellers are paying for policy for us...would like to know if there are some companies' plans better than others...

If you're buying a used house, it's a good thing to have the seller pay for. That way during the first year you're in there, the problems will rear their ugly head and you'll be somewhat covered.

However, as far as the repairs go, expect the warranty co to get the cheapest, most incompetent repairmen out to you after a standard 48 hour wait. In my experience, they send scuzzy, unqualified people to make rig-job, band-aid repairs that will eventually go bad, or make something else blow out in a chain reaction. And the warranty doesn't cover certain things... read the fine print as always. When this happens, the wolves have already been let into the hen house and you're at their mercy.

Anyway at least it gives you a year to identify problems, keep things going (not accounting for terrible inconveniences), and save for / schedule actual & proper repairs when the warranty expires.
