Hello everyone, I am relocating to Fort Worth in next 2 months. Never been Fort Worth before. I am starting to look to rent a apartment in either fort worth or arlington are and wondering if anyone could recommend some nice neighborhoods and apartments with zip codes By the way, my budget range in $500-600 and could anyone recommend the utilities(cable, internet, and electricity)
And any places I need to avoid...for a single female

My new job is located near I-35 and south of 820 loop

Thank You

Here is the list of apartments I got so far

Highland Park 76132
Coffee Creek 76132
Copperfield 76132
Chesapeake 76132
Salem Park 76132
The Trails 76107

By the way, What is Section 8?????

Section 8 is subsidized housing for people with low income or disability --- some apartment complexes rent certain % of units under section 8 because they qualify for special tax incentives...
if you see apartment complexes with 3 bedroom apts or townhouses law of averages says that many of them will be to section 8 renters...
my son and daughter in law have lived in apt complexes that have had section 8 renters--they usually find that management is not as good--and neighbors are more problamatic--right now they are renting apt in Lewisville--NE of DFW airport by Vista Ridge Mall- that has no section 8 renters and it is much nicer...some people might say those comments are racist--all I say is cite an apt complex with section 8 apartments that is better than avg...

you are going to have trouble getting a nice apt for that price IMO...even a 1-bedroom...
apt rents in nice areas for a nice complex are not cheap even if housing prices are starting to feel the impact of a soft market...

the area of 820S to I-35 is not where I would be looking...
North Arlington off I 30, in Bedford north of Hwy 183/Airport Frwy, north Euless by the airport (noisy but some nicer apts)
don't know much about the FTW apt areas but Bryant Irwin and Hulen areas are pretty nice--maybe some out by Craswell in White Settlement area might not be too far to drive

but again your price will make it difficult...

Most of those are in Benbrook I think, which is mostly fine, a bit older in a few parts but it's kept up. You might check out apartmentratings.com for the specific apartments.

that info is not something they would put on their web sites---advertising they do or don't would probably be considered violation of fair housing probably...
you can ask if you call them and think they would have to tell you

and most of those apts are not just in Benbrook--it goes by city--Bedford did not have section 8 apts until the ones called SotoGrande were sold/bought by management company and they got ok to lease section 8 rentals--before then the city did not have any--there was a definite change in the children who came into the local ISD and crime went up--just a statistical fact--
There are plenty of section 8 rentals in FTW's SE/S side and well as the N side--
Arlington has apartments that least to section 8 tenants--Grapevine does as well...
Southlake has NO apts nor does Colleyville and I don't think it is likely they have section 8 home rentals either--but you have those in FTW and probably Arlington as well as other towns in Metroplex...
it is just fact of life...

I would look for web site with crime statistics and try to rent where I could afford in areas that showed least incidences for past year or so...
there are some out there--some threads on this forum with links to them
call the city police depts in arlington, fort worth, benbrook, hurst and just ask them...

I don't know--the address says FTW on some
Team Ranch, Summit Ridge and Lakeview apts have mail address in Benbrook--they are west of 377
ones east of 377
those north of 820 and east of 377 are in FTW
so don't know exactly ones you referred to...
