I haven't been to Fort Worth area but we are looking for a house around Dallas/Fort Worth area around 120K. Single family home would be nice but are open to townhome. Good school district, low crime and good employment opportunities in customer service.

We are helping out a friend who is single mom and made some bad choices in life with money and now can not buy a home with her credit. We are helping out to buy the home and she will be responsible for the payments. so after three years if she decides to move, we would like to keep the home and rent it out. so It would be nice to find in a neighborhood where rentals are desirable.

I have been researching threads and getting familiar with cities. Can you please point to me good neighborhoods.

Thanks

if you need something with public transportation Tarrant county is not going to work for you unless you buy inside FTW itself--none of the satellite towns really has any type of bus service
there is the TRE but it has targeted area to deliver into downtown FTW and downtownd Dallas with stops in south Hurst, NRHills, and the close to the American Airlines training set up in DFW area...and goes into Dallas...but not really that flexible an option if you work other places

The mid-cities where I live (specifically Hurst) has houses in that range and they are in safe neighborhoods. We've lived here ten years and have not ONCE had any type of crime happen to us or our neighbors.

Although our house is valued at 150K, there are several in the area that you could get for 120, especially in this housing market. Heck, mine may not even be worth 150K anymore.

Do a search on the 76054 zip code.

loves2read, I'm not sure why you responded with a post entirely about public transportation when the OP wasn't even asking about it but hey, it's all good...

West Fort Worth, Watauga, and are great areas and in the Keller schools. There are alot of cute houses in there in that price rangs. Rentals will always be good in that price range because some people would rather have the privacy of a home than rent an apartment and that is a close comparison of pricing.
A good realtor in the area is helpful also.
