OK, went to The Feed Store this afternoon (just now). Neat little place. Their (bone in) chicken is the best I've had since moving to the area. The place is really easy to get into and get out of (did carryout). Not bad, overall. The spicy sauce is really good. So are the spicy beans.

Red Hot and Blue is pretty darn decent for a chain.
The one in NRH is Big Barn BBQ and it is pretty good.

I tried going to the Red, Hot & Blue on Hulen and was totally ignored by the staff, so I left. My feeling is that if they don't need my business, I'm not going to give it to them.

It opened as Red Barn but in the past few weeks it changed to Big Barn. Don't know why.

To add another angle to my original post: does anyone have a suggestion for a meat market or supermarket that carries exception baby-back ribs? For whatever reason I have not found good baby backs for a reasonable price anywhere. In fact, the last time we went to Austin we brought a huge cooler and bought 6 racks to bring home.

I usually get mine from Central Market, but have found that the key to good baby back ribs lies more in the preparation and cooking than in the quality that you purchase.

In my experience the exact opposite is true; but hey, to each his/her own! I'll try Central Market's...

First of all, Red Hot and Blue is NOT Texas bbq!! It's Memphis style. Get that bush league business outta here! As for me, I like Big Barn in Smithfield. Used to be Cotton Belt B-B-Q. Great food, cold beer, live music. As for the Riscky's is disgusting comment, well, you said it all when you said you weren't from here. A refined TX palette would tell you it's legendary barbecue! Angelo's is too greasy. North Main in Euless is fantastic, as well. As for the winner here, you have to look to the Smoke Pit in Fort Worth proper on E. Belknap, right by the North Freeway.
