The wife and I decided to do a night out this weekend and I've booked a hotel room. We know we're eating Seafood at Callahan's as the wife needs her King Crab Legs. We'll come in early enough Saturday am to have some time to find some things to do. Any suggestions? Walking is not an issue but due to an injury I cannot do long hikes? It's been years since I've seen the downtown area. Is it worth parking and walking around here? Wife is not a big shopper. Any "must see" sites you'd send a relative to if they were in for the weekend?

Depending on how long it’s been since you’ve visited, the canal park running through town is very nice now that they’ve finished it. It’s very picturesque (have your camera/phone handy), a nice walk and some interesting places nearby. Have lunch at Döner Bistro for something different.

One of my favorite shops in town is a few blocks away, Edgeworks, but depends on your likes of course. Oh, and again depending on taste, The Machine Gun Nest is about 1/2-1 mile away and one of the best indoor shooting ranges you’ll ever visit. Be warned though, on weekends it is VERY busy, maybe an hour wait.

The canal park looked very interesting when I was reading up on it. It's been since at least 95 that I spent time in Frederick. I'll be carrying my Nikon pro camera so will surely get some good pics.
