You probably will have trouble insuring a high end car anyway...
even worse living in LA his rates will kill him. I suggest he shop for insurance first or he won't have his 1.5 for long. ide go for something practical and economical. and if the OP has no job then how does he expect to get a bank loan. whats his credit history like?
If this guy is the real deal, some sort of day trading savant, yet naive to the ways of the world, then I applaud his seeking opinions. But, it does stretch credibility a bit. In truth, if you could amass 1.5 million by age 26, then you could sock it away and go to work in the finance/economics/investing world and make a nice income. So, why so concerned about annual income? Is the phenomenon not repeatable?
Kind of a low blow to bring up a thread which describes what could actually be a problem in his life.
Maybe pertinent. A day trader must make decisions on what to buy, when and how much - many times daily. Does seem like a bit of a disconnect.
If true, I'd set aside a million and use the other half a million to build another small fortune. I wouldn't buy a car to attract a lady that was going to tire of my quirkieness and leave with half of it. One word: prenup!

Yeah, I see the disconnect, but there could be an explanation. The decision to buy/sell a stock can be done by a mouse click almost like one's in a virtual world or video game. On the other hand, decisions like what car to drive or what clothes wear influence the way real people see and judge you in a more intimate face-to-face manner...I could see this causing anxiety for someone with low self esteem.
