I am a long time freecycler and advocate. I give and get many useful items through the group.

One question I do have is that I notice once in awhile I get the message "waiting mod approval." It happens right after posting. I am curious if there is some filter through the offer form that flags certain keywords. I've never had anything rejected yet. What would be other reasons some items are held for approval and others are not?

FreeCycle Mod approval is a manual process, Each FreeCycle group can gave one, or many administrators.

But they have lives and do other things also, so the request sit in the queue until one of the moderators get around to do it.

Also one of the options is new users (or new email address) all have to be approved by the mod before they are posted. Once a poster has established themselves as a "Good" poster, the approval requirement is lifted from that Email address, It all depends on how the Mods have set it up.
