I have a flower that looks quite a bit like a coneflower, but its leaves are entirely different from any coneflower I've ever seen or seen pictures of. They're much smaller and more feathery. (Sorry, I wish I had a photo, but I don't.) The flowers are a little smaller than most coneflowers I've seen, but the petals turn downwards like those of a coneflower do. Some of mine are pale pink; others are a deeper shade of pink. They have yellow centers. I've been trying to identify it but haven't been having much luck. Any ideas of what it might be?

It would be so much easier to figure out what you have with more details or a picture. It might still be an echinacea.

There are a few varieties that have a yellower center and at least one dwarf variety. One of the few places I could find with a good variety of them described and good pictures is here:

Echinacea, Coneflower

If none of them come close one of the few "daisies" that fit the description that I could think of was Boltonia. It's on my want list so I can't give you first hand information. It is known as "false aster" and "false chamomile" depending on which place you look. Originally it only came as a white daisy but it comes in a pink color variety now. In some pictures the daisy begins to get recurved petals before it fades (ie they go back a little like echinacea).

Try the following link and click on the picture to get an enlarged view so you can see the leaves as well as the flowers:

Bluestone Perennials, Inc -- BOLTONIA asteroides Pink

or this photgrapher's version:

or here:

Boltonia asteroides 'Pink Beauty' from North Creek Nurseries

If none of these come close, try to describe the leaves, how tall the plant is and if it is in full sun/part sun/shade, and when it started to bloom. All of these help to figure out what it might be.
