What factors affect grass color? I purchased Vigoro Sun and Shad mix and planted it in several different areas in my backyard. In some spots the grass is a lighter green and in other areas it is darker. It's only a matter of about 30 feet.

New grass will be lighter than more established grass. The amount of light will affect the color. The nutrients will affect color (ex. more nitrogen = darker green grass).
