Yesterday and today I've seen teeny (maybe 1") hummingbirds around my newly planted petunias, they've been coming around dusk.

Love the photos!
So hummingbirds are still around? Where do you guys live?
I haven't seen any lately; I had been seeing them in my petunias (but never at my feeder.)

I live by WGV in St Johns County in a new dev but we back up to a preserve so maybe they come from there?, i've been seeing the tiny ones the last few days in the front yard, but not the regulars in the back by the feeder.

I wonder if they are hummingbird moths instead?
I used to see them in Colorado. Sometimes at dusk it is hard to tell them apart.

Default hummies (too late for the 2007 season, but....)

When you put up your feeders next year, be sure to put up more than one (best is 3 or more) because hummies are very territorial.

Talking Hummers, Hummers!

When I change the water and take it back out there they come right up to my face, and have even landed on the feeder while still in my hand. They are so darn cute!
I have kind of jumped on this thread super late, but I wanted to bring it up again.

Karla, love this pic. REally pretty!

Anyone know of any sightings in Chicago for hummers?
I recall growing up there was one or two that visited our garden from time to time.

I know here in Vegas, we get them year round. My old rental we put up a feeder and we had a regular instantly. Her nest was in the tree next to our yard. She would flutter infront of my face many times. I was really sad to leave that house just because of her! We miss our little neighbor! Up on Mt. Charleston, the Lodge resturant has feeders infront of every window around the building so as you eat your elk burger, you get to watch tons of hummers visiting the feeders! It is sooo cool!
