Thank You! Yes they are "Double Knockout" Roses. They are a bush rose and have become my new favorite plant. You can't kill these things with a stick, they are constant bloomers and the most disease resistant rose I've ever seen.
We have 3 of the Double Knockout Rose bushes on our property. I would like to add more. We trimmed them down significantly a month ago and look at them as of yesterday!

You did a wonderful job. The tree did take away from the beauty of the house. Everything is clean and simple; let's not forget managable too. I'm personally not fond of knock out but prefer Joseph's Coat roses due to their colors changes but it looks good in front of your home. Isn't it fun doing your own landscaping choice.
LOL ok since I'm Mid-West born, southeast raised and now living in Texas "West Coast Speak" is about as alien as it comes!
We thought about a drip system for the planting beds and if the drought reappears in our area (we are officially out of drought status right now) we will be installing drip lines. Because of the rather bizzare way the irrigation system was laid out and installed, switching out these zones will involve digging up half the yard I've been watching the roses and they are actually doing well with spray irrigation
