Can you tell the difference between marijuana plants and tomato plants? (weed, price)

I remember years ago there being a bit of a kerfluffle when 2 LEOs in a Cessna on 'weed' patrol were spending a bit too much time patrolling sunbathers around a swimming pool.

I haven't read the article but they have destroyed someone's garden for being in front of their house and used the "debris" excuse, too. I wonder if this is the first attempt to prevent people from growing their own food.
Texas seems to have an issue .... I remember a story a while back where they cleared a lot of horsemint thinking it was weed ..... pulled something like 400 plants before stopping due to it being too dark .... proud of the good they were doing in the war on drugs .... until they realized they were idiots
Hard to believe they pulled so many plants without even noticing the difference in smell - let alone look, texture, size, etc
At first I thought that this was an update or related story to that .... nope ... just Texas
From the air it's hard to tell the difference. I can understand that. But to commence ripping up someone's tomato crop. WTH?? Are we sure it wasn't Monsanto?
I'll guarantee the "tip" was from some older, nosy neighbor who didn't like the looks of the occupants and figured because they had long hair, they must be growing pot behind that bamboo. Ridiculous!
I wouldn't be surprised, since that's basically what happened to me some 15 years ago! Long story, but basically this old man I hired to fix my computer made a false report, telling the police we (three female roommates) were growing marijuana in the house. We were not. Thanks to him, we had to endure a police raid, guns being pointed in our faces, even our dogs' lives being threatened. One of my roommates was so traumatized, she slept at her boyfriend's house for weeks afterwards. So the cops can be over-zealous sometimes, and nosy people can cause major trouble if you're not careful.
P.S. To this day, I still wonder why he falsely reported us... we weren't even "hippies," just young working women living together in a little A-frame house. Maybe he was a homophobe, and thought we were some lesbian orgy/cat house? Who knows, but I hope karma gets/got him for it.

Idk how I missed this..I was thinking the exact same thing...
