I deserve a fresh cup of coffee right now, and I’m drinking it. I thought I’d never be able to dig out some perennial roots, but I did. I dug out Cuban oregano and having gained confidence, I tackled a Lady’s Mantle and with a bit of work, I got it out.

After that I took a metaphorical breath and started in on the Shastas. I got both plants out! I was convinced I was too weak. I was wrong. And you know what? You can’t catch covid-19 while gardening.

I am a happy camper right now.

Am planning what will go into those blank spaces I’ve created.

It's especially satisfying to plan what will go in those blank spaces, especially if drinking a fresh cup of coffee at the same time.

Good job!

You should be glad you don't have to dig out bamboo, you would still be waiting on the coffee!! Good job.

Wow, good job! I once tried to dig out anemones, which spreads underground. They have nice end of summer flowers, but it was too much of a good thing. I finally solved the problem by moving 700 miles away. I often wonder how the nice lesbians who bought the house are doing with the darn anemones.

And you have serious closings in WA, due to the virus, so anything you do to as a diversion is good.

Better be careful. I hear anemones once owned have the ability to follow you wherever you go.

Yes. While I was digging those roots, I was not thinking about the virus. And I was breathing good fresh air.

I got a chuckle about your anemones.

Can you grow coffee in your area? That might be something to plant in the area you cleared?

Good job! Beating up the shrubbery is always good healthy exercise. Today we managed to beat up some grasses. It was Guinea grass growing through a big roll of fence wire. A friend and I tackled it this morning (after coffee) and it actually got dug out of the grass! Woot!

Truth be told, I wish I could dig. It is still too early here to plant anything and I don't want to disturb the mulch that is protecting the bulbs in the ground . We have had a few warms days so some of the Daffs are popped but not the tulips as of today.
