Today was an all day of light rain. The grass and my wife's garden will love this.

Spring in Charlotte NC has been much rainier than normal but my garden (flowers and veggies) is very happy, and after gardening in 3 east coast states DE/FL/NC Charlotte has been the best place in 40 years of gardening.

Garden has escaped root rot due to rain because the original homeowner put the garden bed up a hill. Don't need gym membership to get cardio in my yard, it's a steep slope. I've been adding perennials to that hill garden, thinking ahead to old(er) age. Many peonies in 4 colors, coral, deep raspberry, medium pink, light pink, were outstanding this year, best $30 purchase of bulbs ever but they took 3 years to dazzle.

Veggies off the patio in large containers and grow bags, some with wire for protection from rabbits, learned the hard way how much rabbits like green beans when they ate the whole plant. Dahlias are potted because something ate the bulbs from below when planted in-ground.
