Compared with gas-powered lawnmowers, what are the advantages and disadvantages?
So we all know that electricity is a more eco-friendly resource and there are some states that have a law to limit gas-powered equipment, why there are so many gas-powered types of equipment exist now?
Electric is NOT more ecofriendly than ICE. It's just a matter of where do you do your polluting-- at the exhaust pipe or at the power plant chimney.
The real reasons to use electric for small garden machines vs ICE is their cheaper capital price, lower maintenance effort (practically none), way better performance to price/size ratio, convenience of just plug & play vs schlepping fuel around and lighter weight for easier handling & storage.
The one real eco- advantage is the noise pollution aspect.
I perfer plug in over battery-- MUCH lower purchase price, and it seems the battery types are designed with planned obsolescnce in mind-- after a couple yrs when the batteries need to be replaced (oftren as expensive as buying a whole new machine) they've changed the design so, you;re forced to buy a new machine....and of course reliabilty & "endless" supply of grid power/work time vs keeping batteries charged - a consideration if you have a larger property to mess with.
Also, if you have a smaller property, an electric powered mower may be fine. If it is larger and the battery won't last or the cord won't reach, you kind of have to go with gas powered.

My electric mower came with two batteries. In the time to drain one battery while mowing the other will be fully charged. No down time at all because they recharge so fast. Also, changing the battery is faster than adding gas.

Sorry, but I find that rather hard to believe, but if it works for you.
Really? Hard to believe?? You can swap batteries in the time it takes you to remove the gas cap on your gas mower. It's literally that fast!
I have a Eco lawnmower. You can pop out the battery in seconds, although this Eco has enough juice to do the job without swopping batteries. Gas....unscrew the cap, lift the can of gas, aim the spout into the gas tank, tilt can upward, clean up overflow, place cap and screw tight, pull cord.....again and again......

I have a gas-powered riding mower, and it cost half the price of an electric one, with no run time limit. A cordless electric is great for a small lawn like in newer developments.
