Finally, I found a place we could buy a small trailer load of mushroom soil, and last year, hauled some home.....$15.00! That stuff is awesome! But, when you buy a small trailer load, be prepared for some real back-breaking shoveling. That stuff is heavy.
Results? I spread it everywhere.....under my pine trees, in my flower beds, around my rose bushes. My beach grass is absolutely huge, now, and the mushroom soil has kept the flower beds moist, even this year. Tomatoes and geraniums really love this stuff, and actually, every plant surrounded by mushroom soil is doing 100% better. Warning, though: The information I read was that, we should where rubber gloves or thick garden gloves when handling this soil, because of the spores. Also, don't spread mushroom soil around if it is fresh. It must be cured, or have been sitting around for at least a year.
that is great stuff for garden. why would you have to ware rubber glove, we eat those mushrooms, what could harm you.
