For my strawberry patch...last year I placed 3 of those spinning pinwheel thingy mabob's in the patch. The kind you blow on or hold out the window and they spin. I got 3 that are chrome and shiny. They worked awesome. I don't think I lost one berry last summer. My patch is only 30' x 20' and on a small hill side. You may need more or less depending on patch size. The early morning breeze spins them nicely. It does not work for moose, but worked excellent on the birds!

I should have added...I just stuck them in the dirt right amongst the berry plants. Netting should be effective...or foolproof. Might have to pluck a bird loose on occasion...but that should scare the dickens out of them enough to keep them from coming back!

I went and bought a roll of the replacment screen and used that to cover my berries I used some plant stakes to hold it up
it allows the sun and rain to get through and you don't have to worry about the little birdies getting their heads stuck in the netting(a problem my brother had)
let me see I think I have a picture
ok found one to the right of the picture you will see the screen over the blueberries not real fancy looking but it worked

I saw a bird yesterday that I've never seen before and cannot find in my bird book, it's yellow and looks like has a black mask, any ideas what it is?

Sorry, ellie that's not it. The face had more back, it really looked like a mask, I'll try to post a picture later.
