I delivered a pizza to a woman who had a bush in her yard with small white (from what I remember) trumpet-like, very dainty, and pretty flowers. I remember they reminded me of little butterflies or fairies!!! It was very pretty and she couldn't remember what is was called but that she bought it at, like, Meijer or WalMart or something. Please help!!
I'm being haunted by it's beauty!!!!
I have to see it again
Sorry, you seem to have been skipped right over! Have you decided what the bush was that you saw?
Awesome! Thank you Finally the correct "diagnosis"
There had been a few guesses but none of them seemed right (and I know it's tough to tell just from photos!), but after googling the name you posted, I discovered you hit the nail on the head...
And my Beauty Bush must be truly mature - it has to be at least 15 ft tall. In full bloom it's absolutely...beautiful
If anyone on Long Island wants a small one, let me know - I have "babies"
Oh, wow, I didn't know that you never got the right answer in June! Cool!
I love those bushes, although I've never seen one in real life, only pictures. Yours is certainly a "beauty"! I'd get a "baby" if I could. They're supposed to be a great "passalong" plants....as a matter of fact, they're in that book called "Passalong Plants" by Felder Rushing and Steve Bender (of Southern Living). That's where I first learned about Beauty Bush, and I've wanted one ever since. I've never seen one around here, though.
Well the flowers were individual (for the most part it was equal foliage, equal flower if that makes sense....) and trumpet-like like this one. All of it, once again was very dainty! I search all above mentioned and I will continue to check images on googe and stuff to find it!!!!
Your OP says it was a bush. I am wondering if it was a shrub, or a perennial? The last pic you posted looks like a perennial. Maybe a lobelia. It will make a vast differance if it is a perennial, and not a shrub.
