Hi,
we moved into a SFH a little while ago and had a very busy/ugly corner to our yard.....so we spent a little of money and made it a little more 'usable'.

ps. we spent 1900 for contractor and material. but i think it will add at least that much to the value of our house if not more.
what do you think?

Looks nice. Am I safe assuming this is a quite shady corner? What sort of mulches did you use?

You should add a few hostas along the fence to soften the sharp edges, or even a few large pots of flowers. Impatiens would be really bright & cheery.

Not a whole line of hostas along the fence or stone wall, but a few clustered here & there, especially in the corners. You could do several clumps of 3-5 different varieties...choose each a different color/pattern, size, and/or leaf shape. You could also do a couple clumps of 3 assorted size/shape pots of the flowers, too.

Hostas are perennials & so would come back bigger & better each year.

you are right to assume that. it was a very shady area....no grass would grow....and that's part of the reason why we decided to do this.

your idea about the pots of flower near the fence is interesting. we might do that! :-) thanks!

Good job.
