Just finished inital planting, so things are not filled in yet. We back up to a wooded area, so I am going for a more casual, woodland type look. Someday, I'll add a flagstone patio.
The azelas and rhodedendrums were in full bloom a few weeks ago, all white. And I hope things will look better once the grass comes back. The wooded area was completely covered in vines. We cleared that out and built stairs. The bubble fountain was really easy to build and a favorite of the kids, pets, and frogs.
One of the best tips I ever received was to purchase two or three perennials every couple of weeks from a retail garden center. You'll start to get a cycle of blooms. Do this several years in a row, and divide the ones you've already purchased each spring, and you can really fill in those beds.
I love seeing a hammock in the edge of the woods. That's where I have mine too.
