I agree it can vary.

Many people are unaware that black people traveled with the Spanish to Central and South America in the 1500s and 1600s. Also that Mexico was a slave holding country as well.

That's an even distribution that averages around five percent. Every mexican DNA result I've seen is similar.

The african component, although minute, must have been absorbed into the base population of mexicans.
