His wife contacted me through Ancestry where we both did DNA. They live across the country and I haven't seen or talked to him in many years.
I was a teenager and remember the day he was born. He died on the way to the hospital. Brain Anurism (spelling?). Only 55 years old. Way too young a man to die, and leaving young children.
I gave my condolences to his wife by way of Ancestry posts. Still in shock, but if not for Ancestry I probably would never have known.
So sorry that you lost a first cousin. Funny how Ancestry or genealogy in general can keep us in the loop like that. Mostly on Ancestry, we find people. I found loads of "cousins" 4th, 5th cousins on internet genealogy groups before Ancestry and one led to another, each one adding more and more to my tree. A few of the really important ones were older and have passed.
Yours being a first cousin and only 55 years old is very sad though. My condolences.
Sorry for your loss. They can come unexpectedly and at any age. My wife died at 51 from an aneurysm. She told me about falling (actually being pushed) out of a second story window when she was only a couple years old and landing on her head. She was told that she survived it only because she was so young when it happened. So I've wondered, since her death, if that's what caused it. I don't dwell on it, as she told me her sister pushed her out, and I wouldn't want sis to feel the blame in any way. But I can't help but wonder, ya know? When people die young we naturally look for causes.

Aneurysms tend to run in families.
