The movers come Tuesday, pack Tuesday, load and drive Wed. They were supposed to come last week, but I had some medical problems that postponed the move, getting better now.
So, a last minute check list (BTW, this is NOT my first move)
We are leaving the fridge for new tenants;
We have pretty much nuked it, and cleaning ladies gave it a good scrubbing last week. so, tomorrow, eat up whatever is left, throw out the rest, do a last minute clean up.
Still sorting stuff and taking to Goodwill. I'm resigned to the fact that I will be "boxed up" and shipped, its the nature of moving, can't be perfect. I have a system---all unsorted clutter is now shoved into boxes and labeled "unsorted" Sort it out when we get there, that's all we can do.
Cleaned out the pantry and sent usable food back with dh. he left today, took cats and dd, I will follow with ds.
DS doesn't get it, he's never moved before and is only 13, but he's helping as best he can. Come Monday night, I want him to have an overnight bag packed, anything he wants immediately, like his games, in boxes or bags labeles "last in" etc.
Tomorrow we set off bug bombs, there is an ant infestation in here, or perhaps set themoff tonight and go for a nice ride? Better than taking bugs with us.
The night before we go is problematic, where to stay? Well, if they load the beds, we go to a hotel, if not sleep here.
Get all essential meds ready, put in bags but don't label Meds, those have a street value, movers look for.
Well, its now or never, I'm not really ready, but here we go!
We were just like you last week. The packers came Tuesday/Wednesday and they loaded the truck Wed/Thurs and the truck is on it's way and will arrive to our new home on Wednesday of this week! We got a hotel for Wed & Thursday and we are glad we did. It's hard to function in a home with no bath or hand towels, no pots/pans, no silverware, etc. Tuesday night was hard enough with half of our stuff packed.

Well, they came today and packed, i'd done such a thorough job of pre-packing they refunded me about half the boxes they estimated! Problem is, we forgot about the garage and attic....oops!
Well, when they come tomorrow, there will be slightly more stuff to load. Oh, well, we're making progress!
