Has anyone ever used them? They gave me an estimate over the phone (she logged in everything I said). They seem nice. The move is 800 miles. I don't have much furniture, maybe just a living room, but about will have about 50 of those plastic cartons or boxes of stuff. The estimate came in at $3000. Includes a credenza (metal) and metal cabinet from the garage, bqq grill, patio set, and a dining room table and 6 chairs, plus abouty 5 wardrobes.....

What is "Move Your Stuff"''s U.S. Dept. of Transportation or Motor Carrier ID#?

According the the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration consumer protection regulations (49CFR375.207) all interstate households motor carriers and move brokers must list them in all of their company advertisements.

Be sure to read Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move. Then contact a local moving company or three and arrange a professional in-home estimate if you want to avoid being ripped off.

Then you might be heading for a whole lotta trouble if you're comfortable asking for a company's "best" price without inquiring about their insurance compliance and licensing qualifications.

Quite a few small and medium sized movers allowed their interstate operating authority to lapse after the meltdown of the real estate and financial markets in 2007.

That doesn't mean they were bad companies. They just made a business decision based on the stormy economic climate at the time.
