Shantotto. Just curious, where you moving to?

Got one room empty now, ready to put in crown molding, patch and paint.

Went out to the storage unit. We have a 10x20 unit full that is going to be a garage sale, while the take stuff would, excluding the furniture, would so far fit in my SUV. Wow!

Well, I'm jumping in here - I'll have to take some time to read up on all the hints in this thread. Trying to get the house in order for listing. The realtor said that we were in good shape once we de-clutter the closets. This past weekend we cleared out and purged the coat closet, and then painted it. Next up is the linen closet. Then I'll pack my china and stemware, because we won't need it for the time being.

We're preparing for a move from IL to AZ - probably leaving in October.

From local real estate agents: declutter, put excess in storage, that which you don't sell at the yard sale. Then 'stage' the home. If you have questions as to what this involves, go tour some new builder homes, or ask your agent to show you a couple of well-staged homes. Buyers will look at the setting, overlook the minor issues.

If using a room freshener, use vanilla, etc, keep it very low key. People can be allergic to strong room freshener, incense, etc.

WTG y'all, and thanks for the scent tip, Resrain. Yes, incense, fresheners and potpourri are a big no no when selling. Makes people think you're hiding something......pets, food, mold, etc.

Going to hit that attic again this weekend. Have to take last week's stuff to my consignment gal. Rinse and repeat.

I'm moving in a month after finally finishing grad school. Yesterday I took a car-load of stuff (bookshelf, chair, lamp, assorted odds and ends) to Goodwill to start downsizing. My goal in moving on is to only have the amount of stuff I can fit in my car. I'm getting there!

Spent the afternoon sorting all the stuff set aside for the yard sale next weekend. Cross your fingers that we get a lot of stuff out of here!

Began gathering up stemware and glass vases, which are here, there and everywhere, washing it and putting it out on the dining room table for packing one evening this week.

Today I pulled two plastic bins of clothes from the spare bedroom closet and eliminated all but a dozen pieces. The rest is hitting my yard sale Saturday.
