Yep - we are actually going to contact the local church in the area to see what people might need (we are living in a rural area). We have a lot of good things, just things that we don't need. Can't wait to get rid of stuff! We already got rid of a lot....but as I unpack (and this may be the opposite of what folks do) it will be easier for me to get rid of it, if I have no place for it, and don't use it.

The problem is women like to get rid of stuff so that they can buy more stuff. Men tend to like to get rid of stuff so they don't have to carry that crap around ever again.

Really?
I want to get rid of stuff just to be rid of it, and only buy what I NEED going forward. I don't need "stuff."
(I am a woman )

HappyHarley - not me. I don't even like shopping and I am a woman. My husband has way more 'stuff' than I do and he knows it and he'll admit to it. When I went through my 'stuff' initially, I kept only what I used or what could go somewhere in the house. I only had one box to my name. I grew up in a family that loved trinkets. It took awhile to get past that - I felt if I gave or threw away the item, I was giving or throwing away the person/memory - which is so not true. My husband has not yet reached that point but he's working on it. In the meantime we continue to ask our family and friends not to give us 'stuff'....meh....some still do. I know they mean well.
