^^We used the ziplock baggies for the furniture pieces. Used a sharpie to write on the bag which piece of furniture the pieces were from. All baggies went into a box meant just to hold those bags which went with us (there was no way we were losing that box!).
One tip from movers - have everything packed and ready when they come. Unless of course you are paying for them to pack you. Lots of folks are packing on the moving day while the movers are there.

I've had personal experience with helping two different people, that were moving. our time and energy is valuable, and the people did not finish packing, we were there throwing miscellaneous stuff in whatever we could find. it was really bad wasting our good energy on packing for them, stuff all over the house.
