My boyfriend and I were wondering if we moved to a different state, would that mean that we would have to take a driving test all over again for that state, or do we simply just change our license to that of the state we're moving to?
It varies by state, so you need to check with your destination state's DMV office. For example, if I moved from NC to NY, I could get a license without retaking the test. If I go from NY to NC, I have to retake all the tests. My wife has a CDL, so she actually has to redo that when we get to NC, which is a big deal (we don't have our own 64 passenger school bus for her to use for the road test!).
Actually no she doesn't. We did that and my wife has a CDL. In Charlotte we found out that you only have to take the test if you have a standard license not a CDL since CDL testing is standardized across the nation. We were worried about that as well so this should put her at ease!!!
