Nope, not changing my number. Too much time to update databases/web site account info plus having to get the word out on my new number. It hasn't caused me any issues.
Area codes are becoming meaningless. Here in Florida people have phones with area codes from all over the country. I have a Seattle area code on my cell phone and a Florida area code on our land line. Never a problem.
I'm considering getting a local number too when I move. Kind of tired of explaining my number from two moves ago and my voicemail clock is set up to my former time zone as well.
Nope. I've moved from coast to coast, still have the same number. Got an OOMA phone last year, and it has the same area code as the cell I've had for 20+ years even though I'm halfway across the country from there at the moment.
As a retiree, I keep my old cell number. Everyone knows my old number. I have a local area code land line.
In the modern era, I think most everyone is used to the idea that cell phone area codes do not necessarily indicate where you live any more.
A land line? Really? Can you post a picture of it please? I want to show my kids. they do not believe they existed.
