Is there any way to find out what the most expensive single residence is in each state? If not, what would you guess is?

New Orleans
4717 St. Charles Avenue
Listing price: $6 million
Median sale price in city: $145,000

This Richardsonian Romanesque-style mansion, built in 1904 for the cotton industry tycoon W.P. Brown, is the largest on St. Charles Avenue, which is renowned for its collection of Southern mansions. The exterior is made of blue sandstone and features Syrian arches and steep gables. The terraced patio has a heated pool and hot tub. The house has nine bedrooms and eight-and-a-half baths.

-Six million doesn't seem like the most expansive home in New Orleans but I'm no real estate agent.

-There's a home on Highland Rd in Baton Rouge that seems like it would easily top $10+ million but I can't find the home or the value. If anyone knows, please post!

This house is in Wayzata, Minnesota. It's the former mansion of the Pillsbury family. Was on the market for $55 million a few years ago.

I have no idea what the most expensive house is in Tennessee, but Alan Jackson recently sold his 19,000 sq foot home home near Franklin for $28 million (the original asking price was $38 million).

That looks like the Aaron Spelling mansion. I think the priced dropped.

Anyway property tax is too high in Texas, Doubt you will see much mansions here for more than 50M. Taxes would be close to 2M a year
