Yes unfortunately I work in a non descript vanilla suburb off a highway exit with office parks and mediocre chain restaurants. My commute totally blows, and my lunch options are limited. I miss working in dowtown Boston sometimes. I also miss Friday evening happy hours in dowtown Boston with the co-workers after work. Nobody wants to do that in the office park lands, they just want to go home, and so do I after work. Thus the reason why I think Office Space was one of the most brilliant movies ever made.

Well just saw this; 1 million additional sq feet right at the edge of the Philly DT - a good thing to me and wish there were more jobs DT in Philly proportionally as the transit network is built to most effectively bring people to the core

CHOP plans million-sq-ft project at South St. site (Update) | PhillyDeals | 06/08/2011

This year in downtown Seattle they have added 1.6 million sq ft of office space for Amazons new world head quarters and 900,000 sq ft for Bill And Melinda Gates foundation. Its expected to add 20,000 new jobs in the next couple of years. Added to the 232,000 jobs downtown allready.

If they give us more transit options. I love working downtown, and would be unemployed before I worked in the burbs, but the trains have gotten so damn crowded the past year or so since the hiring picked up and for whatever reason more corps started coming downtown.

I have to admit I am jealous. I wish Pueblo would get 1/4 as many or 50,000 new jobs.

Absolutely. More jobs. More people, more entertainment. Less sprawl. It's the efficient way to grow instead of wasting more resources.

In Lansing, MI I wouldn't necessarily say we need more people working downtown. It's fairly packed during the day. What we need is more people to stay past 5 PM.
