Me, I personally find the Western US more exciting because it had that desert feel, has a lot of Mountains, and the large cities are always sprawling.

Which geographic region is more exciting to you? The West, South, Midwest, or Northeast?

If I was confined to one region it would be the West. It has some exciting urban areas, like LA, the Bay Area, Seattle and of course the biggest party city in the world, Vegas, but the diversity of it's geography is also quite awesome.

For city atmospheres, the northeast for sure. You have the 24 hour excitement of NYC with all the buzz that city creates. Plus, there are many other amazing cities within a relatively short drive. Next most exciting, or perhaps a tie, is the southwest or west. Powerful, aweinspiring scenery..tons of first rate outdoor activities, better weather for planning activities, dangerous earthquakes, volcanos, deserts, huge mountains to ski, redwoods, amazing food with flavor, surfing on amazing beaches, beautiful women. South is probably next, because there is disneyworld, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, the keys, Nashville, the Carolinas, the smokies, racing culture, southern belles. Midwest is last with lots of outdoor sports, like bar volleyball, running, boating, eating beef and cheese, drinking cheap beer, playing with softballs that are stupidly big, looking at how tall Chicago's buildings are and wondering why anyone cares when winter is 6 solid months long.. and there is not a lot to see in the midwest other than Chicago skyline, the rock and roll hall of fame in the Cleve, a few select restaurants, and a lot of tollways! Scenery is fairly pretty in upper Wisconsin and Michigan, and Pittsburgh and Cincinnati if you like picturesque natural settings with a lot of outdoor activities going on nearby. If you like mediocre arts, eating varieties of food from other cultures and shopping for stuff..Chicago is yer bit ch.

Imho, Northeast hands down.
I would put the West a distant second.
The South and Midwest don't even register on the excitement scale.

In which geographic region offered in the poll would you put Alaska? Somehow, I find the idea of an arctic region within the borders of the United States to be exciting.

Yeah the South is not exciting at all, It is probably the most diverse in scenery than anywhere in this country, bar none.

In Georgia you can go from a near alpine climate in the mountains to tropical along the coast, same with the Carolina's, and TX. Think man.........I will give you that the Midwest is boring. Lord have mercy.............
