I don't think there's a single mid-sized or large city in the US that has a "1950s" feel anymore. I suppose the OP is moreso specifically talking about first-ring suburbs surrounding cities? Because literally every single city has that unless they're too new (sunbelt cities, generally).
I'd agree with those who said the old Route 66 towns have that vibe. Many of those places are dusty, decrepit ghost towns and pretty depressing to drive through.
