The American River within the city and county of Sacramento begins at Folsom Lake and Nimbus Lake and flows within the heart of Sacramento County 30 miles into the Sacramento River.

Are there any other U.S. cities/metros with this amenity?

The above is about 40miles east of Sacramento in the Sierra Mountains(foothills - 2,000 to 5,000 feet).
