Southern definition of Yankees = anybody not from the South. Don't like it? Don't come here.

That's it, exactly, minus the insulting "backwards'' reference. Stick with the smaller cities, such as Montgomery, Memphis, Birmingham, Chattanooga, Nashville, New Orleans.

Only when they are tired of snow and want to retire.
I would like to know too. Maybe someone should start a thread with this question. I have never "noticed" Southern hospitality even when I was in Alabama and Savannah.
The closest thing was an elderly morning said good morning to me while I was jogging in Savannah. She seemed pleasant and very nice.
I also was once told to say "Maam" when I was in AL.
Yes, but that's not "hospitality". Geez, I live in New Jersey and if I'm out walking and I pass someone else we say "hello" to each other. That's just normal.
And the "Sir" and "Ma'am" thing isn't about hospitality, either. It's a custom specific to the south for the most part, yes, but I wouldn't call it a form of hospitality.
The title of the topic makes no sense because ALL Americans are Yankees according to people from the Caribbean..........
Are any of the people posting on this thread Caribbean? You only proved that there're potentially some functionally retarded people posting on the thread, but not caribbean.

Nashville doesn't really belong with the rest of these cities.
Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC. North Carolina has transplants in the Raleigh and Charlotte areas, but the rest of the state is more southern. The same applies to other southern states such as Virginia, Georgia, and Tennessee. These states have transplants but the more rural areas and smaller cities are a lot more southern. I could be wrong, but I imagine South Carolina, Alabama, and definitely Mississippi have the least amount of transplants.

SC actually has a similar amount of transplants percentage-wise as NC: //www.city-data.com/forum/33669361-post7.html The coast in particular attracts a lot of Northern retirees, and you also have Columbia with USC, Greenville/Spartanburg with a lot of international businesses, and the SC 'burbs of Charlotte which attract transplants as well.
