Actually, it's quite the opposite. NC was historically said to be a "valley (or vale) of humility" located between "two mountains of conceit." SC and VA were the wealthy aristocratic colonial states and NC was the poor backwater.

I think it's VA but there's a good case to be made for GA also.
Ummm, it's NORTH Carolina. "Carolina" refers to the university, LOL. And where in the world is Missouri (or perhaps you should say Mizzou) coming from?????
Overall, it's pretty similar to Virginia (sans NOVA). Western NC is very similar to Tennessee (but so is western Virginia, and other nearby Appalachian states). Some of the counties near the southern border are pretty similar to SC.

Yes ,I see I left off the North part by accident. But, strangely enough that is what a lot of people call it and a person from there. If one person is from NC and the other from SC they'll still call the person Carolina...Ill be like "which one?"... and they'll still say "Carolina." Some people are ignorant and seem to think that Carolina means either Carolina like theres no difference at all, but having lived in both I know better. There was a link to State Similarity Scores "Is Pennsylvania as a whole more similar in feel to Ohio or Maryland?" thread...I used that one.
