I would check into cost of living before making a choice. You may get more bang for your dollar in one place over the other.

On the same salary? Well, it depends on that salary . Under 60k, Tampa. Under 100k, Phoenix. Anything above, Napa.

Good point. I was just looking at the overall picture, and Napa is the easy winner in all areas in my book.

I would really want to go to Napa, but my father lives closer to Tampa.... so, I guess, Tampa....

Napa. Phoenix offers nothing special to me and water will be a worse issue in the near future. Tampa is deep in a hurricane zone and is nowhere near a snowy place. Napa may be small town territory, but it's close to both San Francisco and the Sierra Nevada. Plus it's further from any disaster prone area.

If the salary is the same, then Phoenix, hands down. Your money will go a lot further there. If you do live in Phoenix though, find a nice part of town to live in-- stay out of the dumpier areas. Napa sounds great to visit, but to live there? Phoenix, even though it's in Arizona, might as well be in California, it's so close. There are so many CA transplants there you feel like you're in LA-- just without the ocean. As for Tampa, or anything else in south Florida-- no thanks.

Phoenix. I don't know why people keep choosing Napa. Other than wineries, what's there? It's not like it's some cultural hotbed.

People go up there to swirl some wine around in a glass, smell it, and drink it.

Napa for me. It's beautiful and clean and the weather is perfect for me. Plus it's close to beautiful charming San Francisco. The other two just don't interest me at all.
