A list of the most and least murderous metropolitan areas in the U.S. for 2014 taken from the latest FBI data. Only metropolitan areas over one million are included. Some improvements and disappointments compared to 2013. Also, some of these metro areas might be on track to finish 2015 with worse numbers than 2014 (the Baltimore area comes to mind).

If there are other MSAs over 1 million that are missing, it's because the FBI doesn't have any crime data for them.

The Orlando metro where I live and where many look down their collective noses at South Florida, is nipping at the heels of it's murder rate. It's sadly a Florida thing it appears with all of the major metros here on the "worst list".
