I was born and raised in upstate New York , so long cold below zero winters are a way of life .

However I'm fortunate to have a career I can transfer to pretty much every major city in the United States and I'm looking to see if someone could help me find it

If it is possible :

I'm looking for low humidity Summers. I'm looking to avoid the Florida , New Orleans heat where your soaked at 9am walking to your mailbox
I am looking to say goodbye to waking up o -30 degree wind chill and below zero temps , but if I have to deal with some sort of winter to get the low humidity mild summers I'm fine with it

If possible I would like to be near mountains , I like the scenery , and hiking , mountain biking , kayaking , bike paths to run and overall running paths . Basically a city that is healthy and exercise conscious.

Decent nightlife is also a plus , I eat healthy and excericiae 5-6 days a week but when it's time to head out I enjoy a good pub fare and beer .

And lastly price has to be right , I would not be able to afford SoCal and most likely at this point Denver unless someone can tell me otherwise .

Thanks !

Not all of Southern California is expensive.

What's your budget?

Salt Lake City nails your criteria for the most part and is a more affordable option than Denver with much the same amenities.

If you want to stay on the East coast, Asheville NC would be suitable. Mild winters, and summers aren't as disgracefully humid as the lower elevations in NC/coastal plain. A river runs through the city, and there are lots of restaurants and bars. I've visited many times, though not in the last 6-7 years, and always thought it'd be a nice place to live.

Asheville gets humid in the summers. The city is technically located in a rain forest.

Yes I interviewed in Los Angeles , but chose not to go , I would not be able to live the life I live now in Los Angeles on what I would make . It would basically be work and come home that's not fun .

That's how it will be in most cities that interest you, on the salary you were talking about making. You will have to make compromises if you want affordable COL.

The Southwest comes to mind - potentially a place like Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Scottsdale or Tucson?
