premise:
the cultural revolution started with boston ->
the political revolution continued with philly ->
then an industrial revolution based in chicago ->
and a financial revolution in nyc ->
whats next ?
i postulate l.a. will be the center of the technology revolution. it has the reputation for having the largest media presence and is the largest city in the state that has the reputation for having the largest technology presence.
I agree that L.A. is the next powerhouse city, "center of the U.S." I think the influence of pop culture and entertainment has grown to such a level that it might be THE most important industry in terms of national/international impact

Youre late to the party.
The technology revolution is already underway. The way human beings interact, communicate, seek information, spend their money, etc is already greatly modified and sadly for your thesis statement, LA didnt have nearly as much to do with it as another region of the state.
Weird thread. I agree with another poster that the SF Bay Area pretty much already has the technology revolution on lockdown.
I seriously believe the next big revolution in America will be an anti-gun violence movement to significantly reduce these high murder rates. People are fed up with all the senseless killings. NYC has already started it to an extent.

Boston was not the cultural revolution. Philly was. It was the first city in modern times that allowed religous freedom.
NYC and to a lesser degree Philly represented the american industrial revolution, largely to beat the south into submission.
The Bay Area will produce/is producing the next american breakthrough.

LOL
+1 points. i was gonna' suggest san fran as the next capital because it is closer to silicon valley but i struggled since l.a. is more popular.
NY, LA, DC, SF, HOU. These are the capitals of our major industries, and will remain so until a new major industry is created (Or our energy industry ceases to to be fossil fuel based).

Yeah but our pop culture and entertainment is nothing to be proud of , really the whole celebrity culture and all these awful hollywood movies we export are nothing to be proud about. I once heard a political commentator on the bbc state that the kardashians were like Americas royal family. Its depressing
Huh? La's not more popular when it comes to technology.
^ i know. but l.a. is more popular in general. its the nyc of the west coast (not san francisco).
i think bumblebee made a good point. if entertainment becomes the currency in the future then l.a. will probably be lead. if technology then probably san fran ?
