Its not about the City-Its about the individual. You can be surrounded by Wiccans and Devil Worshippers(I know, its not the same thing) and still be devoutly Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist etc.
Heck even being Wiccan or Satanic requires a bit of faith.
It's always much easier when your surrounded by like minded people, or those that won't pry into your business and judge you for your beliefs (or lack of beliefs).

Wow! You don't have a very high opinion of Wiccans, do you? I would argue with the "a bit of faith" part of your statement and say that they require just as much faith as any other religion.
Anyway, of course it is all about personal choice. You absolutely can have a different faith than everyone around you, but that doesn't mean you can be completely unimpacted by the dominant local religion to an equal extent whereever you go. Ever tried living in Utah, where many stores close at 6:00 on Sunday, if they are open at all? (the entire mall in Logan stayed closed on Sundays when I was in school there)
The OP asked what cities were most friendly to atheists,agnostics, etc. NOT what places people of no faith can choose to live, which would be anywhere. There are absolutely places where it is much more comfortable to come out of "the other closet" than others.
In answer, I would have to agree with sugarbeet. Larger metro areas are typically more secular than rural, and Democrats overall are more secular than Republicans. Having lived in Idaho and Utah all my life, I would put them on your NOT secular friendly list.

Duhhhh. Because wiccans and satanics, like christians, muslims jews, buddhists, etc., are people of faith. The question is about the best place to be a person without faith in some sort of religious construct.
There is a disturbing lack of secular cities in safe geographical locations.
What do you mean by that? How do you define a safe geographical location? Safe from natural disasters, safe from crime, safe in some other way?
I read that statement as safe from natural disasters, in which case Seattle is pretty safe, as is Portland, Las Vegas, and I don't know what others. However, what kind of citizens people are would have absolutely no bearing on this.
If you meant crime-wise, secular folks tend to congregate in higher population areas. So do criminals, since that is where there are people to commit crimes against. That doesn't mean the two groups overlap.
