Hardly. FL has many amazing beach towns and islands. Most beautiful beaches in the continental US IMO.

I don't know if I would say that the whole state is "cool" but I think many destinations within FL are cool.

California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Hawaii, Alaska (maybe), North Carolina, and Massachusetts.

I left off Georgia because although Atlanta is considered a cool place these days, its reputation still hasn't made the state as a whole get a "cool" image. Same thing with Las Vegas for Nevada and NYC for New York.

As for people saying Florida I definitely disagree. Florida is only really cool in the eyes of older people. Florida feels like a running gag these days with so many people hating on it and not letting older folks or immigrants in on the secret so they can move there instead of somewhere else.

Florida is cool because of Miami metro area, Tampa, beaches, Orlando

Florida is weird. It somehow manages to be so cool but also so not cool at the same time IMO.

Seattle has a cool reputation. Eastern Washington doesn't at all. It's almost an Illinois-type situation.

In my view cool people can handle a difference of opinion. I never heard of riots at colleges in the south when liberal speakers come.
Partly because most colleges in the south are also left leaning. Berkely is specifically targeted very heavily by conservative personalities trying to stir the pot and make publicity for themselves. You don't hear about protests at CalTech or Santa Cruz.

Bernie Sanders and AOC don't go to Liberty to tell everyone there they're going to hell, or degenerates of some sort.

I'm so glad the states I think are "cool" are not mentioned on this thread.

What happens if you are not cool?
