California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Hawaii, Alaska (maybe), North Carolina, and Massachusetts.
I left off Georgia because although Atlanta is considered a cool place these days, its reputation still hasn't made the state as a whole get a "cool" image. Same thing with Las Vegas for Nevada and NYC for New York.
As for people saying Florida I definitely disagree. Florida is only really cool in the eyes of older people. Florida feels like a running gag these days with so many people hating on it and not letting older folks or immigrants in on the secret so they can move there instead of somewhere else.

Florida is cool because of Miami metro area, Tampa, beaches, Orlando
Would the average Republican list states like Oregon, Washington and California? When I think about California, I think of the violent riots that take place at universities like Cal-Berkeley when a conservative speaker shows up. They have to have police officers stacked up in riot gear simply because a conservative like Ann Coulter or Ben Shapriro is speaking. That doesn't seem cool to me. In my view cool people can handle a difference of opinion. I never heard of riots at colleges in the south when liberal speakers come.
Partly because most colleges in the south are also left leaning. Berkely is specifically targeted very heavily by conservative personalities trying to stir the pot and make publicity for themselves. You don't hear about protests at CalTech or Santa Cruz.
Bernie Sanders and AOC don't go to Liberty to tell everyone there they're going to hell, or degenerates of some sort.
I suppose states like Washington, Oregon, California, and Colorado could all be contenders. Though I think lesser known states such as Montana are definitely right up there as well.
What happens if you are not cool?
