North Carolina is my favorite adjacent state to Georgia. It has the highest mountains in the eastern US, long scenic coastline, thriving cities, and is not quite as much of a single party red state as our other neighbors.
I'd choose Wisconsin, just plop right into Madison. Kentucky would be 2nd choice. It could work in the Louisville metro or suburbs of Cincy across the river.
I really hate Indiana. Iowa is a nice state, but not enough there for me. Missouri is a no.
If you were leaving the state you live in now and only had bordering states to choose from to move to which would you choose and why? I'd pick New Mexico because I like the people and the weather.
Im in NY & I’d choose CT but you’d have to kill me first before I ever leave NY
New Mexico - Looked at real estate & jobs multiple times in the Angel Fire / Taos region but just couldn't pull the trigger on actually moving there. Next would be Arkansas, then Oklahoma, Mexico and finally Louisiana.
My first choice would be Florida. I grew up there, already live less than a mile from the state line, and it just feels the most like home.
The other three; Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia all have pros and cons, and I'm not sure how I'd order them. Even though I love the mountains of Tennessee, I'd probably put it last just because it gets so cold in the winter. I love the coastal areas of both Mississippi and Georgia and could be happy living in either, except for those emissions tests in Georgia! That's a strong deterrent...
For me, I'm picking Minnesota, then Wiscy, then Illinois, then SD, then Mizzou, then actually dying, then having someone actually force me into living in Nebraska.
