Curious... if I were on a road trip, passing through your city or town and only had about 4 hours give or take to hang out, where would you direct me to check out as a local? Something fun or relaxing residents enjoy as a semi regular thing, rather than the one shot tourist spot like a famous zoo, museum or amusement park?
For instance, I currently live in Vancouver, WA. which is pretty much a bedroom community of the Portland metro area, so we don't have a ton of stuff, but I'd direct you to the Waterfront area for a nice stroll, and find a brewery or eatery along Main Street. Also, if your looking for nature, Whipple Creek Regional Park just north of the city seems to be a locals sweet spot.
(The one one shot tourist spot would probably be to Multnomah Falls across the river on the Portland side)
Thanks!

If you want the Seattle resident experience and only have 4 hours, go to the University District. Start at Ravenna Park, a quiet ravine in the middle of the bustling city. Walk south and check out the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture on the UW campus. Get lunch either at Off the Rez (Native American restaurant inside the museum) or one of the many very non-Americanized Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. Walk down to the Burke-Gilman Trail which winds along the Lake Union Ship Canal. Heading west along the trail, check out Gas Works Park (former industrial site) for a sweeping view of the city, and finally get a few selfies with the Fremont Troll.
Go in summer, rent a bike, stroll the grand rounds starting at minnehaha falls, finish at lake Harriet while taking in the mansions and urban lake/skyline. You can paddleboard, fish, play volleyball, etc. grab a bite to eat in uptown or linden hills, grab ice cream at Sebastian joes
4 hours is so limiting. Excluding Downtown, I'd suggest spending time on South Broadway which has a lot of antique shops, restaurants/bars and just a lot of cool places unique to Denver. And of course gotta do something more touristy/mountain oriented and visit either Red Rocks or drive down Lookout Mountain Dr to take in scenery and get views of the city.
Boston- Go to Fenway Park and have a Tasty Burger then take the T to the Common and walk around there and Beacon Hill. Then head on over to Govt Center and Faneuil Hall for chowder. Then at the harbor walk take the Blue Line to Eastie and grab santarpios before you head on over to the east boston waterfront for a nice view.
North Jersey- Liberty State Park and snap Manhattan photos and have a good walk, then hesd to Journal Square/Little India in JC for lunch and good indian food. Then Hoboken/Frank Sinatra Park for more views and a slice of pizza. Drive up through Weehawken and get the best skyline views too. Finish right there.
Head to Chapel Hill. Stroll the campus, head to the Carolina Basketball Museum, catch a show at Morehead Planetarium, view the Ackland Musuem, wander the NC Botanical Garden, and get a bite at Sutton’s Drug Store on Franklin Street.
