Isn't it easier just to bus homeless to a clean Austin suburbs and let them deal with trash and homeless so the city center becomes the clean part of the city?

What kind of question is that? Do you really not know the difference between clean and dirty? Yikes...

Now lets get back to the purpose of the thread, and that's to help the OP (me) find a city that doesn't look like a garbage dump.
Charlotte.

Take a look at Boise, ID for a mid-sized and growing city that is very clean. If small, 100K range is OK, then Bend, OR is a great pick.

Lived just outside of Austin for over 10 years and left last year for Huntsville, AL area. Much, much cleaner for its roughly comparable size.

You need to find a city of under 200K. Prepare to compromise tho.

Ever considered New Braunfels? Even SA is cleaner imo, and has WAY less of a homeless problem than Austin. Considering it's only an hour down the road it might be worth checking out.

Bellevue, Washington. Super clean. Like Japan-level clean. Tons of Asian restaurants too.

Modcut: Discussing moderator actions is against the TOS. Salt Lake City, Tampa, and Greenville, SC as being clean. Smaller Midwestern cities such as Fargo, Sioux Falls, and Omaha are also clean.

And even more impressive than it being clean, Omaha is also a much, MUCH larger city/metro than Sioux Falls SD or Fargo ND.
