It's been a minute, but when I lived in Memphis a lot of people seemed to think Oxford MS was a decent place to move to.

If you're looking for desirable suburbs, my impression is that Edmond was one of the better ones around Oklahoma City. Parts of Norman (just south of Moore) were nice too. For Nashville, I've heard good things about Franklin in particular. If you end up around Knoxville, it seemed like the west side of the city was the best, though I didn't do enough exploring to really say for sure.
