The Bronx does not have any huge "bombed out" areas any longer. The south Bronx has recovered from a building/density/foot traffic/vibrant perspective.

But crime is still a huge issue in many areas in the Bronx, as-is lower incomes and super high rents/super high costs.

The south Bronx is gentrifying though, believe-it-or-not. The South Bronx has under construction/recently opened luxury rental towers facing Manhattan!

The south Bronx is actually *re-*gentrifying. Through the 1950s and into the 60s, it was largely a stable working class/lower middle class neighborhood. Public policy decisions changed that.

Are these areas in the pre-Civil Rights Act segregated Black areas of the city?
