2022 estimate for New Orleans was 1,246,176
St Tammany pop is 264,570.
That would mean New Orleans New population would be 981,606.
Just about 100k larger than Baton Rouge

CSA’s are getting a bit absurd. Bordering on useless. Cleveland, a City of 368,000 apparently has suburbs from the PA state line all the way to nearly Toledo, and basically the whole state of CT is some sort of metro area.

I’m also confused how anyone gained counties with the prevalence of remote work you’d think that would drive down supercommutes.

San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland, CA Combined Statistical Area
Merced, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area
Modesto, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area
Napa, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area
San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area
San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area
Santa Cruz-Watsonville, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area
Stockton-Lodi, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area
Vallejo, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area

Santa Rosa is no longer part of the Bay Area CSA---that is so hilarious, but I suppose the commuting numbers to/from up there don't pan out anymore, although 101 is always packed during rush hour, they recently opened a commuter rail to Marin County, etc., however I'm certain all the remote working has a lot to do with this as driving from Sonoma to SF and points east and south is just hell on earth.

Oh well, at least we still have Merced.

Yeah CSA makes sense for a couple areas in the nation. But for most they are laughable. Dallas is getting close to entering the laughable part. Hopkins County is at least 1 1/2 hours from Dallas.

Yeah going across that thing would be a beast.
In DFW, Granbury is 155miles away from Sulphur springs and 165 miles from Durant, Ok.

With the loss of Sonoma, The SF Bay CSA is only 500k bigger than DFW. 20 years ago it was like 3M.

Anyone else notice that Kiryas Joel is now the primary city of the (now formerly) Poughkeepsie MSA?

That's unfortunate, not only did Mobile not get Baldwin County, but we lost Washington County. Once again the only major city with a single county metro in the state... Tuscaloosa and Montgomery are 4 county metro areas but somehow Mobile manages to hold no counties

Without Sonoma County, the Bay Area CSA GDP drops(in 2021 dollars) from $1.250T to $1.216T, but I think the area will come really close to $1.5T this year.

The Atlanta MSA now contains metropolitan divisions, Marietta (consisting of Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Haralson, Paulding counties) and Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell (the rest of the counties in the MSA).

It also looks like the DC MSA has gotten an additional metro division. DC itself along with PG and Charles counties has been broken out as its own division; the other two are Frederick-Gaithersburg-Bethesda which consists of Frederick and Montgomery counties and Arlington-Alexandria-Reston which consists of the MSA's VA counties and independent cities and Jefferson County, WV.

Brunswick County, NC has been returned to the Wilmington, NC MSA from Myrtle Beach.

With the addition of the Sumter, SC MSA, the Columbia, SC CSA has crossed the 1M threshold and stands at approximately 1.1M people.
