Warm weather AND good public transit??? You ask too much. If such a place existed in the US, I'd be looking really hard at moving there.
Yeah I know. With gas prices skyrocketing I wonder how long it will take for high traffic cities to get their stuff together. Infrastructure isnt built overnight.
I'd say either California or Florida for the warmth, San Diego has great weather 75 degrees most of the year, maybe some traffic, the Pads and Chargers. Florida has quite a few major cities that may fit your description, however you should know also the major cities which are clumped in the Northeast have better public transportation for a reason, they have the infrastructure and population from way back. Thus really great public transportation and traffic really go hand in hand as one provides a need for the other. Atlanta in the South may be the city with the best public transportation, warm weather, skycrapers, Falcons, Hawks, Braves, no oceans but driving distance to the Gulf and the Atlantic and driving distance to the Appalachians as well. San Diego may the more desirable of the two but smaller also pricier.
Los Angeles and San Diego for the comfortable summer temps.
