I would also kill for a Wegmans here in Dallas. However, we have Central Market which is similar, but not the same. I loved Wegmans when I was working in Fairfax, VA .
The majority of the canned, frozen and packaged goods are purchased at Aldi's for price considerations only. We buy our paper goods, toiletries and cat food/litter at Wal*Mart.
As for fresh produce and meat, we buy from farmers' markets or from local growers. While price is a consideration, so is health, and I refuse to eat produce and meat products from big box grocery stores. We also have a large garden and grow some of our food. Next year (weather permitting), we'll have a much larger garden.
Central Market, Trader Joes, Albertsons, Winco,
Rancho 99, QFC, assorted Mexican and Asian grocers,
Safeway, Fred Meyers, even on occasion Pikes Market,
what can I say we love to cook (and eat).
One of the perks of Seattle is a cornucopia of foodstuff
for wannabe chefs like us.
I've seen them in NC, MD and DE too. I think they're HQ'd in NC. I remember TV commercials in which the spokesman had a very thick southern accent when he'd say "Food Lahhn, Extra Loeew Prahces."
thanks for that info. I remember they used to be all over the south, though. And know it's only in NC, VA, MD, and DE. Do you know why they took it out of other southern states?
Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly, or Winn-Dixie, depending on how I feel. Neither of these are on the poll!
Oh I miss Winn Dixie! Ours closed I do shop at Piggly Wiggly though!
